Leeuwendaal acquires bankrupt Alons & Partners

Leeuwendaal, public sector consultancy firm, has taken over Alons & Partners. Alons & Partners, which existed over 25 years, was declared bankrupt earlier this month. Alons & Partners focussed mainly on customers in the public sector and was dealing with financial difficulties because of cutbacks by the government and municipalities.

The majority of Alons & Partners’ employees will transfer to Leeuwendaal.

This take-over means further broadening of its service packages for Leeuwendaal. Earlier Leeuwendaal merged with VOS/ABB Consulting, of which Leeuwendaal VOS/ABB arised, specialized in consultancy and support of the board and management in education.

Challenge for the public sector consultancy firms
Consultancy firms with a focus on the public sector are having difficulties in the current market. Engineering and consultancy firm DHV had to cut circa 300 jobs because of the cutback by the authorities. The segment Staff, the staffing division of the public sector consultancy firm Segment Group (circa 100 consultants), was declared bankrupt by the court in Utrecht. Consultancy firm Necher van Naem (NvN) enabled a restart under the name Necker van Naem Detacheringen.
